Iker Casillas


Iker Casillas is a well-known Spanish goalkeeper. He has dark brown hair and brown eyes. He was born in Móstoles (Madrid) on 20 May, 1981.

He started playing soccer at the age of 9 with the Real Madrid C.F., the team of his life. He passed through all the lower categories till debut on the first team in 12/09/1999 against the Atlético de Madrid. That season he won the “Trofeo Bravo” to the Best Promise of the year and became the youngest goalkeeper who played the Champions League and won it.
The same year 1999 he won the juvenile World Championship with Spain.
In the season 2001/02, he won the Champion League again. He wasn't the first goalkeeper, but he entered at the game when César (first goalkeeper) got injured. Casillas became the big hero of the final, saving more than 4 goals in a minute.

In 2009 he equalled the record of Paco Buyo playing 454 matches.
He made his debut with the Spanish team on 3 June, 2000. He started playing as a first goalkeeper in the World Championship in 2002. The highlight was his match against Irlanda, stopping three penalties.

He played 116 matches with the Spanish team. He is the captain, and as a captain he was the responsible to take the Eurocup cup in 2008 and the World Championship cup in 2010.
Now, he's considered the best goalkeeper in the world.
He's also known as San Iker, San Casillas, El Santo (the saint) for all his awesome stops.
